Northern Southland College is a modern co-educational Year 7 to 13 school in Lumsden, Southland. It has a proud tradition of educating the students of Northern Southland. The College is an innovative, well-resourced school which prepares its students for the world in which they will live. Our excellent facilities are located in a spacious, country environment. We are of a size where we can care for our students as individuals on an academic level, and on a social level, as they mature into well-balanced young adults. We take our mission statement seriously: “We strive to develop the complete person, whose academic endeavour is balanced with sporting and cultural involvement and whose exhibition of personal and social skills is positive”. We maintain sound traditional values and insist on high standards while offering a wide range of curricula, interests and opportunities to meet the needs of our students. Year 7 to 13 education within the one school offers many advantages to rural children. The students gain the advantages of both the Intermediate and Secondary systems in the one location and enjoy a close family-like atmosphere, which ensures unity within the school community. If you wish to know more about our College, do not hesitate to contact the Principal or visit the College so you can view our fine facilities and discuss your child’s needs on a personal level.
