Applications are invited for the below positions on a fixed-term, part-time basis to work with students in Years 7-13.   You will work with students who require assistance across all curriculum areas.  These roles require a passion for learning, along with approachability and exceptional communication skills.  

Days of work are negotiable. and are term time only.  The fixed-term end date is 28 November, 2025 .  

BILINGUAL LEARNING ASSISTANT  

This position is 10 hours per week.  You will work with students who require assistance with language across all curriculum areas.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a desire to make a positive difference in education.
  • Understand how to support students with their learning.
  • Be able to build and maintain effective, productive, and respectful working relationships.
  • Display initiative and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Preferably have experience supporting individuals from a non-English speaking background.
  • Our largest migrant community within the school is Filipino.  Knowledge of the language and dialects would be a significant advantage along with a strong command of the English language.  

 

TEACHER AIDE – (Behavioral Support)

This position is 15 hours per week.  

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a desire to make a positive difference in education.
  • Understand how to support students with learning and behavioral needs.
  • Be able to build and maintain effective, productive, and respectful working relationships.
  • Display initiative and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Both positions will require the successful applicant to pass and maintain a New Zealand Police Security check and must be a New Zealand resident or hold a valid New Zealand work visa.

The hourly rate is based on the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement.
